NYC comedy group coming to Butler Art Center
A NYC-based troupe featuring comedic acts will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Butler Art Center.
The Very Good Comedy Show is hosted by Robert Punchur, who graduated from Butler High School in 2011. He later made appearances on MTV & TruTV.
He has been bringing touring acts home since 2017, with the last regular venue being RB Speakeasy in a show held before the pandemic. This weekend's show will be downtown Butler's first in three years, headlined with an hour by Very Good Comedy's most seasoned performer, Steve Marshall.
Marshall has over four decades of experience in Las Vegas & Los Angeles theaters. He closes multiple shows a night at famous NYC clubs like Dangerfields and The Comedy Cellar. He's been featured on CNBC and The Food Network.
Marshall’s approach is “a uniquely personal whirlwind of jokes and stories that somehow culminate in a genuine message of love and acceptance … all while trying to offend everyone in the room,” Punchur said.
Other featured performers will include Teresa Logan Roberts and Vinny Palatucci.
The show is PG-13 and costs $25. Tickets can be purchased online at www.verygoodcomedyshow.com. Patrons are encouraged to buy tickets online, but some will also be available at the art center Saturday.
