Shirley Mae Moore, of Cannery Road, Mercer, passed away on Wednesday evening, Sept. 6, 2023. She was 84 years old.

She was born in Oil City, Pa., Sept. 13, 1938, to Ernest Clair Vogan and Mildred Eletha Castor Vogan.

Shirley was a dedicated farmer's wife, whose life was marked by her unwavering support of her family’s dairy farm in addition to her work as a trusted bank teller, a gracious waitress and diligent retail worker. She had a way of making others feel comfortable, appreciated and welcome. She was a longtime member and supporter of White Chapel United Methodist Church.

She was an avid traveler, skilled card player and golfer. She was an active leader in several 4-H dairy and sewing clubs. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by stepbrother, Paul (Butch) McDonald; stepsisters, Mary (Boo) Horodyski and Margaret (Sis) Zets; children, Dale Moore and wife Dana, Robert Moore and wife Lisa, Beverly Henry and husband Alan, and Ralph Moore and wife Nancy; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wilson Moore; daughter, Debra; granddaughter, Lisa Moore; and brother, Edwin Clair Vogan.

MOORE — Visitation for Shirley Mae Moore, who died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, will be from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF LEESBURG, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pa. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at White Chapel United Methodist Church, 415 New Castle-Mercer Road, New Wilmington, Pa., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kenneth Woods will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to White Chapel United Methodist Church, New Wilmington.
