Betty Leith

Leith

Betty Jane “Corky” Leith, 85, of Butler, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

She was born Nov. 16, 1937, in Butler, the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary (Houston) Funkhouser.

She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Betty retired from Giant Eagle in Gibsonia. She enjoyed being the “demo” lady. She started working early, at age 14, as a carhop and eventually saved up enough money to buy her first car. Once married, she stayed home to take care of her family. Betty had the most joy in hosting holiday gatherings, where the only requirement was to bring extra containers for all her leftovers.

Surviving are her two sons, Thomas Leith and Andrew Leith, both of Butler; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Francis C. “Toot” Leith.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford. The wonderful staff made her final days very peaceful.

LEITH — Services for Betty Jane “Corky” Leith, who died Sunday, July 30, 2023, were private. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.

Any memorial donations should be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.
