Sentence court
The following defendants were sentenced Wednesday, Sept. 13, in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Timothy McCune.
Jolena E. Bowser, 45, of Bruin, was sentenced to serve no more than six months to no more than 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled after pleading guilty to one count of felony theft filed by state police following a July 5, 2022 incident.
Ralph A. Brown, 50, of Parker, was sentenced to serve six months in prison and 36 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony count of drug sales filed by state police following a March 22, 2021 incident.
Mark A. Degroot, 40, of Butler, was sentenced to serve no more than six months to no more than 23 months in prison, but was immediately paroled and ordered to 12 months probation and perform 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a felony count of theft filed by state police following an April 23 incident.
Frankie L. Fosco, 33, of Erie, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation, 90 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $1,500 fine, perform 40 hours of community service and participate in litter pick up after pleading guilty to one count of misdemeanor DUI filed by Slippery Rock borough police following an April 10 incident.
Anthony M. Marasco, 51, of Springdale, was sentenced to serve no more than six months to no more than 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled and ordered to pay $108 in fines after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of drug possession filed by state police following a Dec. 18, 2022 incident.
Janies M. Miller, 42, of Butler, was sentenced to serve no more than three months to no more than 23 and a half months in prison, but was immediately paroled after pleading guilty to a felony count of drug sales filed by state police following a Jan. 18, 2019 incident.
James E. Moss, 43, of McDonald, was sentenced to serve no less than six months to no more than 60 months in prison, but was immediately paroled and ordered to serve 9 months on house arrest with electronic monitoring, pay a $2,500 fine, perform 40 hours of community service and participate in litter pick up after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of DUI filed by Butler city police following a Jan. 31 incident.
Donald W. Myers, 37, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 23 months in prison, but received credit for time served and was paroled to serve 15 months of house arrest and 36 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony count of conspiracy filed by Butler City police following a March 23, 2022 incident.
Ryan L. Parker, 30, of Butler, was sentenced to serve no less than 72 hours to no more than six months in prison, six months probation, pay a $1,000 fine, perform 40 hours of community service and participate in litter pickup after pleading guilty to misdemeanor counts of DUI and accidents involving damage filed by Butler City police following an April 14 incident.
Brandon L. Podobensky, 30, of Grove City, was sentenced to serve 30 days of house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $500 fine after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of operating a vehicle without ignition interlocked filed by Slippery Rock University police following a July 27, 2022 incident.
John A. Scafuri, 51, of Verona, was sentenced to serve 11 and a half to 23 months in prison, but was immediately paroled and ordered to serve 24 months of probation, pay a $500 fine and restitution to Best Buy after pleading guilty to felony counts conspiracy and retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Feb. 3 incident.
Brian M. Smith, 53, of New Castle, was sentenced to serve 36 months probation, 18 months of house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to misdemeanor counts of DUI and driving with a suspended license filed by state police following a March 21, 2021 incident.
Chad E. Tilden, 36, and Rrahgel Tilden, 25, both of Freedom, were sentenced to serve 12 months probation, pay $191 in restitution to Walmart and perform 30 hours of community service after pleading guilty to misdemeanor counts of conspiracy and theft filed by Cranberry Township police following a Feb. 5 incident.
