JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School Board approved hiring Jessica Parker as the new assistant principal of Rowan Elementary School at its work session on Monday, Sept. 11.

Before her arrival at Rowan, Parker previously served with the Slippery Rock Area School District in various roles, including third grade and learning support teacher. Parker was also a graduate assistant in the Deans’ Office at Slippery Rock University.

Parker has bachelors’ degrees in science and early childhood education from Edinboro University, as well as a principal’s certification.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Seneca Valley School District in a leadership capacity,” Parker said in a news release.

“We are very fortunate to have Ms. Parker join us as the assistant principal at Rowan Elementary School,” said Sean McCarty, assistant superintendent for K-6 Instruction at Seneca Valley School District. “Ms. Parker has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills in her previous roles and brings with her a wealth of knowledge, experience and positive insight.”

Parker will replace Jenay Sharp Leach, who left the school district at the conclusion of last school year.
