Davis Road to close for Balls Bend safety improvement project in Middlesex Township
Davis Road will be closed from Oct. 2 to 16 as the construction of a new road alignment and connection to Route 228 begins.
The closure will affect Davis Road from Forsythe Road to Route 228, the state Department of Transportation announced Monday.
A detour will be in place for that time. To access Route 228 from Davis Road, traffic will be routed to Forsythe Road, then to Harbison Road then onto Route 228.
Access to Davis Road will be limited to local residents only from Route 228 to Forsythe Road, PennDOT said.
This $26.5 million safety improvement project is anticipated to be completed in January 2025 by Independence Excavating of Independence, Ohio.
The project is a major road realignment involving the addition of a travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane. It also includes the construction of four new structures, realigned local road connections, and a new signalized intersection at Route 228 and Parks Road.
