Hilliards man injured in motorcycle crash Tuesday
A Hilliards man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 26, after colliding with a box truck in Chicora Borough, according to state police.
Documents showed motorcyclist Cory E. Claypoole, 32, was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.
Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, police said a box truck driven by Adam E. Burns, 25, of Ohio, was stopped at the intersection of East Slippery Rock and Main Streets. Claypoole was traveling south on Main Street riding a Yamaha motorcycle, according to documents.
Police said Claypoole’s motorcycle struck the box truck.
Claypoole suffered suspected serious injury and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital by East Butler Volunteer Fire Department’s ambulance from the scene, police said.
The crash report showed that Claypoole was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Police said Burns and Claypoole’s passenger were uninjured.
Chicora and Petrolia volunteer fire departments also responded to the crash.
