Winfield Township website getting a makeover
WINFIELD TWP — Township supervisors announced at its monthly council meeting on Thursday night, Sept. 28, that the township’s website will receive a redesign soon.
According to Winfield Township supervisor Matthew Klabnik, the redesign is necessary because the current website is outdated, hard to navigate and hard to manage for township secretary Rachel Altman.
“It’s hard for Rachel to update it,” Klabnik said. “There’s not a really good place for her to put the meeting minutes, so she basically has to produce blog posts when she puts in the meeting minutes.”
Klabnik also said that the redesigned site will be easier to navigate for visitors on mobile phones.
“A lot of people use mobile phones nowadays, so the new website is optimized for mobile phones as well as computers,” Klabnik said.
The redesign comes courtesy of Missouri-based web design firm Munibit, which specializes in making websites for small municipalities.
The migration to Munibit’s new site will take place “over the next few months,” and Klabnik said it will hopefully be ready by the end of 2023. Once Munibit finishes the website, they will charge Winfield Township $89 a month for web hosting.
