Breast cancer support group’s Pink Night Out set for Oct. 14
The Butler Breast Cancer and Women’s Cancer Support Group’s Pink Night Out is planned this year for 3 to 9 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Highfield Community Center, 229 Highfield Road, Butler Township.
The seventh annual event will benefit the nonprofit organization in its efforts to provide emotional and financial support to Butler County women undergoing treatment for breast and other cancers, as well as cancer survivors.
“We make sure they are from Butler County, but there are no forms required,” said Cheryl Schaefer, head of the Butler Breast Cancer and Women’s Cancer Support Group. “We try to get people to other sources first, and then we cover other needs, other items.”
Dinners should be pre-purchased and will feature stuffed chicken or pork chops, mashed potatoes, gravy, a vegetable, salad, roll and dessert.
Additionally, the event will feature more than 100 gift baskets filled by local businesses, and guests can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets. A DJ will be present for the duration of the event.
Meals will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. and are available dine-in or takeout. Dinners cost $13 each. They are presale only and can be purchased by calling Schaefer at 724-282-4421.
