North Catholic president out of role

CRANBERRY TWP — Joseph Wilson is no longer employed as president of North Catholic High School, and the school’s principal, Michael Palcsey, will assume his duties in the interim.

Michelle Peduto, superintendent of schools for the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh, sent an email to school staff and families Saturday, Oct. 7, announcing Wilson’s departure. Jennifer Antkowiak, spokeswoman for the diocese, said since Wilson’s departure is a personnel matter, no further details about it will be released.

“We are grateful for his more than 20 years of service in diocesan high schools and wish him well,” Peduto’s email stated.

Bishop David Zubik appointed Wilson president of North Catholic High School in late 2021, and he assumed the role Nov. 22, 2021.

Wilson is a graduate of North Catholic High School and received his undergraduate degree from the McAulty College at Duquesne University and his master of science in public policy and management at the Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College. Wilson served as the business manager at North Catholic since 2002 and previously worked as business manager at Bishop Canevin High School and St. Anthony School Programs, according to a 2021 news release from the diocese.
