The coroner was called late Friday night following a crash between a semi-truck and a Jeep near the intersection of Winfield and Brose roads in Winfield Township, dispatchers said.

Scanner traffic indicated a possible double fatality in the crash, which was reported just before 10 p.m.

A helicopter was initially called to the scene, but canceled. A dispatcher confirmed the coroner was called to the scene.

It’s “believed to be a fatal,” a dispatcher said over the scanner. A caller indicated a man was believed to be under the Jeep.

The road was shutdown in the area of the intersection. Traffic was blocked at the intersection of Bear Creek Road and Winfield Road.

A light tower was called in to brighten the space while crews responded to the crash.
