Butler Township Commissioner Dave Zarnick received recognition for his service to the township and the Pennsylvania Association of Township Commissioners at the association’s annual conference Oct. 4 to 7.

State Association President Sam Juliano presented the award to Zarnick.

Zarnick and Butler Township manager Tom Knights also spoke with Pennsylvania Secretary of Transportation Michael Carroll about the reconfiguration of the intersection of Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Carroll said he would visit the area within 30 days.

Commissioners from across the state attended the conference to learn about topics of interest to townships and connect with officials from the state government, according to Zarnick’s email.
