Butler County Farm Bureau honors retiring board member
PROSPECT — At its annual fall meeting, the Butler County Farm Bureau bestowed upon co-vice president James Boldy the honorary title of director emeritus, honoring his more than 40 years of service.
Midway through the annual meeting on Thursday, Oct. 12, farm bureau president James Thiele presented Boldy with a plaque. Recently, Bodiy announced that he would not run for reelection.
“I just turned 30 in July, so he’s been on the board longer than I've been alive,” said Thiele. “Jim is Mr. Farm Bureau. His dedication to this organization is something to behold. Jim is the definition of ‘salt of the earth.’”
After receiving his award, Boldy stepped to the microphone to thank those who let him serve for so long.
“Thank you very much for letting me be on the board for 40-plus years,” Boldy said. “It was an honor to serve you.”
Although Boldy is soon retiring from the board, he will continue to serve on various committees within the Farm Bureau.
