Aiden Miles Lutz, 15, of Butler, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born March 9, 2008, in Butler, the son of Benjamin and Tara (Gross) Lutz.

Aiden was a sophomore at Butler Senior High School. He had just started at Butler VoTech in the automotive technology department. He was a member of the Butler High School's cross country team and the track and field team. He played recreational soccer in Butler. Aiden was a Boy Scout of Troop 6.

He enjoyed bicycles (old and new) and was a Volkswagen enthusiast. Camping with his father, uncle and his Scout family was an enjoyment for Aiden. Aiden also enjoyed helping his father in the garage, in the garden and as a co-pilot on their many Volkswagen adventures. Fishing was another favorite activity that he did with his father. His loyalty and kindness to his friends was like no other. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gibsonia.

Surviving are his parents, Tara and Benjamin Lutz of Butler; his sister, Taylor Lutz at home; his paternal grandfather, William Lutz of Butler; his maternal grandparents, Jacob and Christine Gross of Pittsburgh; his uncle, Dan Lutz of Butler; his aunt, Lisa (Michael) Perry of Cranberry Township; and his two cousins and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Lutz.

LUTZ — Friends of Aiden Miles Lutz, who died Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3832 Gibsonia Road, Gibsonia, with Pastor Anthony Schneck officiating.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Boy Scouts Troop 6 c/o All Saints Parish, 1660 N. Main St. Extension, Butler, PA 16001, earmarked for Aiden's Eagle Scout, excess funds will be used for Troop 6 activities.
