EVANS CITY — Halloween came just a few days early to Main Street, where youngsters and adults alike came dressed for the annual Halloween parade.

According to Cheri Deener, president of the Evans City council, the Halloween parade is an annual tradition which has lasted for at least four decades.

“It’s the one parade around here that’s always had good attendance; this one is always No. 1,” Deener said. “I remember coming to watch it when I was a kid.”

Marchers and parade vehicles started from the Evans City VFW building, and proceeded down North Washington Street before turning onto Main Street. A good portion of the residents of Evans City lined the streets to scoop up candy and treats tossed by those taking part in the parade.

Shortly after the procession, watchers gathered in front of the Evans City Volunteer Fire Department building to watch a performance from the Seneca Valley Senior High School marching band.
