A crash involving eight to 10 vehicles early Wednesday morning on I-80 in East Lackawannock Township in Mercer County resulted in the death of one vehicle occupant and injured six other people, according to state police.

The crash was reported at around 5:45 a.m. at the 14 mile marker on I-80 eastbound. The crash involved tractor trailers and passenger vehicles.

One vehicle occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road has been closed until around 4 p.m. while police investigated the crash. Any update on the road will be given via Twitter, according to state police.
