IN MEMORIAM

November 1, 2022, 1-year ago today, my son, Richard Blair Menchyk died.

I miss you EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Most women say there is no greater pain than to bear a child. I say there is no greater pain than to lose a child. The strongest person is a grieving mother that wakes up and keeps going every single morning.

Please be patient with me, I’ve been patient with you. You see I lost my child. And while it might seem like a long time to you, it is EVERY SINGLE DAY for me.

My dark days are making me strong. But the worst part about being strong is nobody thinks you’re hurting. I’ve passed my darkest moments alone, while I guess everyone else thinks I’m fine.

I’m sorry if I need to talk about Rich, or if I would LOVE to share memories with you. TRUTH is...memories are all I have left now. So, I guess I’m NOT really sorry at all.

So... a simple act of kindness, by reaching out to someone YOU know is grieving, may spark a glimmer of ‘hope’... someone really DOES care.

Two people have helped me this past year. My daughter Gracie, Rich’s sister, who educates and manifests her children and others to be honest and kind to ALL. And to my husband Ed who has been my sounding board, guidance counselor, and shoulder to cry on ... daily. Thank YOU both.

GOD grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Mom
