Drilling to hold up traffic on Routes 19, 228, Freedom Road

Traffic was interrupted near the intersection of Route 19, Route 228 and Freedom Road in Cranberry Township throughout Thursday, Nov. 2, for drilling, according to PennDOT.

The core drilling is being conducted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the installation of a new sign at the intersection, which is to come Friday.

PennDOT expects interruptions on Route 19 between St. Francis Way and Old Freedom Road and from Dutilh Road on Route 228 to the entrance of the Cranberry Mall on Freedom Road. The inside left turning lanes will be closed for 30 minutes while the holes are drilled at each leg of the intersection.

In addition, core drilling will be done along Rowan and Rochester Roads for upcoming paving projects.
