Quality Life Services expresses ‘horror’ after Pressdee charges
Quality Life Services in Donegal Township is expressing “horror” after news one of its former nurses has been accused in the deaths of two of its residents.
Registered nurse Heather Pressdee is charged with killing two people, attempting to kill two people and injecting lethal doses of insulin to four others at Quality Life Services.
“Along with numerous communities across the region, Quality Life Services shares in the horror and pain caused by the actions of Heather Pressdee as alleged by the PA Attorney General’s Office,” Mary Susan Yurek, chief quality officer at Quality Life Services, said in a statement. “We extend our heartfelt sympathy to all families impacted by these actions.”
The charges presented by the attorney general’s office against Pressdee relate to the mistreatment of 22 patients at five care facilities over two years. Of the 22 patients, four died in her care, as the result of her actions, charging documents state.
Pressdee is accused of killing two people and attempting to kill four others at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Butler Township, according to charges filed Thursday.
Tricia Kradel, nursing home administrator at Sunnyview, said Thursday she was not aware of any charges against Pressdee related to Sunnyview. She could not be reached Friday for further comment.
