I appreciate the efforts of the Mars Cheer Boosters to reignite the inclusion of a mascot at Mars High School.

I graduated from Mars High in 1976, our mascot at the time was Mary Jackson, I am told there also were mascots throughout the ’70s and into the ’80s.

I know the ’70s and ’80s were a long time ago, but school spirit was alive and well and the students were well involved.

Good luck to the Mars Cheer Boosters and I hope to see the new mascot in the buildings and on the fields in the near future.
