Freeport junior Michael Braun placed 9th in Saturday’s PIAA Class 2A Boys cross country championship meet in Hershey, coming in with a time of 16 minutes, 27 seconds.
Braun turned in Butler County’s top Class 2A effort in the event.
SRU quarterback Long gets PSAC honors
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University quarterback Brayden Long has been named PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week.
Long completed 23 of 27 passes for 400 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in Saturday’s 56-18 win at Edinboro. His passer rating of 270.24 is the highest single-game performance of any quarterback in Super Region One this year.
This is the fourth time Long has been named PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week this season.
