Doutt

John Robert Doutt, 83, of Butler, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Nov. 14, 1939, in Renfrew, he was the son of the late Herbert R. and Dorothy M. (Beal) Doutt.

John was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School and then went to serve his country in the Army reserves.

Upon his discharge, he went through the apprenticeship program at Butler County Community College and began his career with Armco where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1998.

John was an avid member of the Meridian Vets Club, Butler Township Volunteer Fire Company, and Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and shooting. Above all else, John was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Schmidt) Fediaczko Doutt, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1992; two daughters, Dori (James) Funyak and Darla (Steve) Royce; his son, Rodney (Michelle) Doutt; his stepchildren, Douglas Fediaczko and Jen, David (Pauline) Fediaczko and Dawn (Tim) Kozak; 13 grandchildren, Cassie, Jakub, Isaak, Jordan, Andru, Luke, Taylor, Dylan, Matthew, Payton, Riley, Lucy and Liam; a great-granddaughter, Claudia; and his sister, Susan Smith and Ed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille (Gillis) Doutt; and three sisters, Lois Laughner, Sara Cochran and Grace Miller.

DOUTT — Family and friends of John Robert Doutt, who died Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001. A veteran service will immediately follow at the funeral home with members of the Meridian Veterans Club.

A funeral service for John will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., Butler, PA 16001, with Pastor Steve Franklin officiating. All attendees are kindly asked to meet at the church.

Private burial will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
