Of Note: The Independence Visitor Center is located at 6th and Market Streets. Pick up a park map, plan your visit, and watch films in the Independence Visitor Center. Of Note: As the British army, led by Major Gen. Edward Braddock, moved westward from Virginia, they were forced to widen the Nemacolin path and build a roadway to accommodate the 200 wagons, heavy artillery and over 2000 troops.

Of Note: Bushy Run Battlefield preserves and interprets for citizens and visitors the site of this pivotal battle fought between British and Native Americans during the conflict known as Pontiac’s War (1763-64) and the role of this British victory in maintaining control of North America.

Of Note: A Pennsylvania state historical site that interprets the life of Conrad Weiser. Weiser was an 18th century German immigrant who served as an Indian interpreter and who helped coordinate Pennsylvania's Indian policy. He played a major role in the history of colonial Pennsylvania.

Of Note: Follow in the footsteps of a legendary frontiersman. The homestead, on 579 acres of rural countryside, includes the Boone House, restored and furnished with an outstanding collection of period Pennsylvania furniture, tools and farm implements.
