Eileen Crawford

Crawford

Eileen Esther Crawford, 78, of Cabot, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at her home on the Bauer family farm where she was born and raised.

Eileen was the sixth child of the late Philip and Esther Kroneberg Bauer.

She attended Winfield-Clinton Elementary School and later Knoch High School, graduating in 1963.

After graduation, she followed her dream of becoming a registered nurse and entered Butler County Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1966. Later, after having her family, she continued her education and obtained a BSN from Penn State University.

Eileen was employed for 45 years at Butler Health System, where she held various positions throughout the hospital. She lovingly cared for and tended to all of her patients with compassion and grace. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond the hospital for several years as an EMT with the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, as well as a CPR instructor.

She was a member of Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served as a deacon and loved helping with Communion and other church activities.

Eileen enjoyed road trips, especially traveling to attend shows at Sight and Sound Theaters. She also liked playing bingo at the Elks, playing solitaire, reading books and going to the casino. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Denny Crawford Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Butler and Donny Crawford and his wife, Tammi, of Saxonburg; four grandchildren, Megan Crawford and her husband, Kyle Campbell, Ryan Crawford, Michael Crawford and Jaydon Crawford; one brother, Wayne Bauer and his wife, Candy, of Cabot; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Eileen will meet in heaven her parents, Philip and Esther; her siblings, Delphin, Juanita, Phyllis and Naomi; and — most of all — her love of 49 years, Dennis.
