Power restored after utility pole problem repaired
A broken cross arm on a utility pole in Butler temporarily left about 1,600 customers without electricity Tuesday night.
A wooden cross arm broke on a pole on East Penn Street around 9 p.m., forcing West Penn Power crews to turn off electrical service until repairs could be made.
The arm was replaced and power was restored by 11:30 p.m., said West Penn Power spokesman Todd Meyers.
Cross arms hold electrical wires on top of utility poles.
