Volunteers show up early to decorate Butler’s Main Street
Butler residents might notice a brighter Main Street after about 40 volunteers from various organizations got together Tuesday morning to decorate light poles with snowflake lights for Christmas.
Audrianna Bly, president of Butler Downtown, said volunteers gathered at 4:45 a.m. to decorate all light poles along Main Street, spanning from the Cochran Ford dealership to Dunkin’.
“We like to start early because there's less traffic,” Bly said.
In addition to the snowflake lights, one large tree and four small Christmas trees were also put up at Diamond Park, Bly said.
“We then decorated those with lights,” Bly said. “Jeff Double, from All About Reclaimed, donated the tree topper for the big Christmas tree.”
Aside from Butler Downtown, other groups who had a hand in organizing or had volunteers present Tuesday morning, including Butler AM Rotary, Cannella Cafe, Butler City Fire Department, Butler City Police, Cochran Ford, Kenmac Rentals & Sales, Butler County Parks and Recreation, All About Reclaimed, and Alliance for Nonprofit Resources.
