A new business opened Wednesday, Nov. 22, in Butler, bringing a two-story bar to the corner of Cunningham and Main streets.

Carrie Walker, who is design lead for the new Johnny’s Distillery, said the first floor will be the main bar, while the underground floor is a cigar bar, intended to resemble a speakeasy.

For its grand opening Wednesday, Nov. 22, the main floor has been decorated with a holiday theme. A sign outside labeled the spot as “Johnny's Jolly Holiday Bar.”

The bar will serve handcrafted cocktails and beer, Walker said.

According to Walker, the business has been in the works since the summer, after the closing of the previous restaurant, Penne, in the building.

The bars will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, except for holidays.
