Lions Club to sell Christmas trees
The Butler Lions Club will begin its annual Christmas tree sale Friday.
The club will sell fresh cut pine trees from noon to 5 p.m. Friday at the picnic shelter at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township.
The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. Sundays and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays until the trees are sold out.
“The Lions Club doesn’t use a dime from this fundraiser to run the club. It’s all donated,” said Barry Flecken, co-chairman of the sale.
The club supports causes, including vision health, youth and the environment and battling food insecurity. The club also works to combat childhood cancer and diabetes.
The tree sale is among the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Butler Lions Club, Flecken said. He helps lead the event with Doug Hayes.
The trees are fresh cut and transported from Armstrong County on Friday morning.
The club will have 75 trees for sale this year. Trees cost $70 each.
