Man convicted of murder found dead at Butler County Prison
A man convicted of murder last week was found dead in his cell in the early morning of Wednesday, Nov. 22, District Attorney Richard Goldinger confirmed Wednesday evening.
Alec Miller, 23, was found guilty of first-degree murder on Friday, Nov. 17. He was convicted of shooting and killing Maximillian W. Halterman, 23, on March 19, 2019.
A deputy coroner confirmed Coroner Bill Young was summoned to the prison early Wednesday morning.
Goldinger said the death is under investigation. He could not comment on the cause of death.
According to Goldinger, Miller had a cellmate.
