Traffic was backed up considerably from the 1100 block of New Castle Road in Prospect because of a crash involving an orange SUV and a police vehicle.

Prospect Borough/Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department and Butler Ambulance Service responded to the scene of the crash, which was first reported at 5:45 p.m.

Emergency personnel on the scene were diverting traffic of smaller vehicles to Unionville Road, but tractor trailers continued to back up on New Castle Road.

Dispatch confirmed minor injuries, but the two injured people refused ambulance transport.
