Tractor-trailer rolled over near entrance to Cleveland-Cliffs
BUTLER TWP — The driver of a tractor-trailer was transported by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital after he failed to negotiate the curve on the northbound access ramp to Cleveland-Cliffs at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, resulting in the vehicle overturning.
A Butler Township police officer on the scene said Butler Ambulance Service transported the driver to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The tractor-trailer was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
He also said the trailer, which had an open top, spilled its load when it overturned.
Butler Township Volunteer Fire District and Cleveland-Cliffs workers poured oil-drying material around the truck as they waited for it to be righted.
Northbound traffic on Route 8 near the entrance to Cleveland-Cliffs in Butler Township was affected because of the accident.
Butler Township director of emergency services Scott Frederick said Butler Township firefighters left the scene at around 12:10 p.m. when called to another scene.
