Live Nativity scenes planned
The following live Nativity scenes are among those planned for the Butler County area this December:
Concordia at Cabot will host its 10th Annual Live Nativity on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 148 Marwood Road in Cabot. Performances are about 15 minutes long and will be held at 4:30, 5:15 and 6 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and will feature live animals. The event is outdoors and guests are encouraged to dress warmly
Between performances, guests can enjoy Christmas music, cookies and hot chocolate. Children 12 and younger will also receive a free gift, and children of all ages will have a chance to visit with Santa. Those who want photos with Santa will have to bring their own cameras.

The Presbyterian Church of Portersville will host its annual Living Nativity and Christmas Fair on Dec. 9 and 10 at 1297 Perry Highway in Portersville.
On Saturday, the Nativity will include live animals and adult actors, along with an audio broadcast of the first Christmas — Luke 2. On Sunday, the Nativity scene will include children from 6 to 7 p.m. and adults from 7 to 8 p.m. The Nativity will be staged in the side parking area.
The Christmas Fair will be held inside and will include free community dinners on Saturday and Sunday, a petting zoo, train display and kids’ activities. On Sunday at 6 p.m., there will be a musical recital followed by the rededication of the pipe organ and guest performances at 7 p.m.
Donation taken at the fair will benefit The Joshua Fund.
The Nixon United Methodist Church will host its annual drive-through Live Nativity from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 9 at the church, 334 Airport Road.
All donations taken at the event will benefit the local food pantry.
Bradford Woods Community Church will host its annual Live Nativity at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10 with three showings at 4836 Wexford Run Road in Bradford Woods.
The event is free. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served between the showings. The event will feature children playing all roles.
A free charity event takes place in downtown Zelienople from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7, featuring children’s activities, carriage rides, Santa Claus, a live Nativity, strolling carolers, and a holiday parade.
Miracle on Main Street is Zelienople’s largest charity event funded by donations from local businesses and organizations. All proceeds from the event are distributed to various charities.
