Butler County residents share their favorite holiday songs
Whether you’re having a white Christmas or rocking around the tree, there’s plenty of songs that embody Christmas and the holiday season. Some Butler County residents shared with the Butler Eagle their favorite holiday songs to listen to this time of year:
Tim Gallagher, from Jefferson Township, said that his favorite is “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole.
“It spells out all the wonders of the Christmas season,” Gallagher said, “the things that make us so nostalgic, and how it conjures up not only past Christmas memories with family but re-infuses us with hope as the new season arrives.”
“White Christmas” by Bing Crosby is a favorite of Harrisville resident Dana Himes Roman.
“I always loved the movie,” Himes said. “The costumes, the feel good story, the songs all make it a classic. Bing Crosby is Christmas.”
Jessica Comer, of Jefferson Township, chose “I Still Believe in Santa Claus” by New Kids on the Block as her favorite song for the holidays.
“The lyrics talk about being a child at heart,” Comer said. “The magic of Christmas will forever be dear to me.”
Crystal Jean Majors, of New Castle, shared her love for her favorite song, “It’s Christmas Time Again” by the Backstreet Boys.
“It’s uplifting about all the beautiful things about Christmas,” Majors said. “It doesn’t get as much love as it should because it's a Backstreet Boys song.”
Coral Sommers, a resident of West Liberty, shared that her favorite song is “Must Be Santa” all because of her children.
“All my children went to Emily Brittain Elementary School, and every year they put on a Christmas play and always sang ‘Must Be Santa,’” Sommers said. “It holds such special memories in our hearts.”
Center Township resident Amy Schultz chose “Dominick the Donkey (The Italian Christmas Donkey)” as her favorite song to listen to this time of the year.
“It’s such a funny song,” Schultz said. “You can’t help but get up and dance around!”
