Knoch School Board members sworn in at reorganization meeting
Four returning members and one new member of the Knoch School Board were officially sworn in at the school board’s reorganization meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
District Judge Sue Haggerty swore in returning board members Donna Eakin, Bill Gebhart, Justin Kovach, and Dave McRandal, as well as first-time board member Jesse Scheller. All five were elected during last month’s general election.
Scheller is serving as a school board member for the first time. Despite having no school board experience prior to Wednesday’s meeting, he led all candidates in last month’s election, garnering 17.98% of the vote out of seven candidates.
Scheller currently works in sales and repair for a local roofing company and is also attending school to become a pastor.
At the meeting, district superintendent David Foley also recognized outgoing board member Debra Miller, whose term on the board is coming to an end this year after 20 years of service. She was not reelected for another term. During her run, Miller represented the school district as part of the Butler County Vo-Tech’s Joint Operating Committee and the Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV’s board of directors.
