Mars Area school board seeking new board member
The Mars Area School District has 15 people interested in filling an open school board seat.
The Mars Area school board received 16 letters of intent to fill an open position left by Megan Lenz, who recently resigned after moving outside the district.
One of the people who submitted a letter of intent has discontinued their interest in the role, according to district officials.
While on the board, Lenz served as municipality representative and Mars Planet Foundation board. Her role will be filled following her resignation, which is effective Jan. 9.
Board members will conduct interviews for new candidates at 6 p.m. Jan. 3 and 4, with a vote taking place at the Jan. 9 meeting.
