Sentence court

The following defendants were sentenced Thursday, Dec. 21, in Common Pleas Court by Judge Timothy McCune.

Walter M. Wojichowski, 44, of Butler was sentenced to serve 15 to 84 months in state prison, pay $5,000 in fines, complete 40 hours of community service and pay restitution totaling $18,065 after pleading guilty to his third driving under the influence offense and his third driving with a suspended license violation filed by Butler Township police following a Feb. 25 incident.

Vakie Ionic Knight, 32, of Philadelphia was sentenced to serve 18 to 48 months in state prison after pleading guilty to possession of crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Butler City police following a June 24 incident.

Calib Newman, 38, of Linesville in Crawford County was sentenced to serve nine to 42 months in prison followed by 48 months of probation, pay $2,500 in fines, pay $1885 in restitution and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to charges of burglary, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, fleeing from police and theft filed by Butler Township police and state police following incidents ranging from October 2020 to April 19 this year. Drug charges filed in February 2021 by township police in another complaint were not prosecuted.

Jacob Shane Penrose, 37, of North Apollo was sentenced to serve six to 24 months in state prison and ordered to have no contact with the victim after pleading guilty to a terroristic threats charge filed by state police following a May 13 incident in Prospect.

Dennis V. Garcia, 59, of Renfrew was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 120 days on house arrest, complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his first and second DUI offenses filed by state police following incidents in Center and Butler townships on April 20.

Dale Ray Spaulding, 53, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to serve up to 18 months in the county prison after pleading guilty to a simple assault charge filed by state police following an Aug. 1, 2021, incident in Forward Township.

Alexander Charles Hays, 24, of Wexford was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $300 fine and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a May 30, 2022, incident in Butler.

Thomas Clinton Shirey, 44, of Tarentum in Allegheny County was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 60 days of house arrest and pay $625 in fines after pleading guilty to driving with a suspended license and careless driving charges filed by Buffalo Township police following an Aug. 13 incident.

Jacob Paul Crispen, 19, of East Brady was fined $650 after he was found guilty at a Nov. 21 nonjury of 19 traffic violations filed by state police following a Nov. 9, 2022, incident in Fairview Township.

Anthony Charles Carben Jr., 49, of Butler was sentenced to serve six to 12 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to serve six months of house arrest and pay a $2,500 fine after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense filed by Butler Township police following a May 23 incident.

Tabitha L. Beam, 52, of West Sunbury was sentenced to serve 18 months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay $400 in fines, complete litter pickup and 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to her second DUI offense and a disorderly conduct charge filed by state police following a Jan. 1 incident in Clay Township.

Tracy Ann Smith, 56, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to serve six months of probation and pay $19.55 in restitution to 7-Eleven after pleading guilty to a retail theft charge filed by Butler City police following a Dec. 19, 2022, incident.

Andrew John Vetterly, 36, of Cranberry Township was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine and complete eight hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by Cranberry Township police following a Sept. 28, 2022, incident.

Paul Warner Roth Jr., 62, of New Castle was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation and pay $1,562 in restitution to Target after pleading guilty to two counts of retail theft filed by Cranberry Township police following incidents on May 7 and May 13.
