Curran

Michael Curran, 81, of Butler, formerly of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023.

He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 30, 1942, to the late William and Lorene (Adsit) Curran.

Michael went to Oklahoma State University and got his Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts. He was a sports editor for the Ruidoso Newspaper, a novelist and wrote many political articles until retirement. He was published in the American Thinker. Michael also owned and operated Butler Equipment Company for 28 years.

Michael was known for being physically strong, competitive, naturally gifted in sales and being able to teach himself anything he was interested in. He was a skillful baseball coach who regularly taught lessons, primarily for hitting and pitching.

Michael was the father of Michael Curran II and Holly Beggs. He was husband to Marci Curran and Nicki Fragale.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Curran.

CURRAN — Services for Michael Curran, who died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael's name to VA Butler Healthcare.
