Mars students compete in math competition
Mars Area School District students in grades four through six recently competed in a creative mathematics game competition at Slippery Rock University.
Fifth-graders Hannah Nam and Kristin Sadhu and fourth-graders Jack Baumgartel and Lila Demetris went undefeated in the Academic Games League of America Equations academic competition, according to the district.
Participating students included sixth-grader Jackson Wagner and fifth-graders Reese Carrel, Noah Fecich, Ellie Kurnocik, Maxwell McEwen, Giovanni Morales, Benen Pears, Seth Pedicone, Alison White and Chaarvi Yogesh; fourth-graders Cayley Chaffee, Alex Chernykh, Hannah Craver, Asher Detore, Lucy Harrison, Bennett Kreit, Landon Lewis, Ashrith Muppala, Ellie Spaulding and Adalyn Stuber; and third-graders Noah Bergdahl, Olivia Evans, Kendall Fonzi, Angelo Navari, Eleanor McCauley, Everly Northrop and Charlie Xuan.
