Butler PoliceMonday — Police obtained a felony arrest warrant for Troy Alan Cornman Jr., 36, no known address, in connection with a weekend break-in at a former girlfriend’s home in the 400 block of West Wayne Street.Police said the alleged victim, April Demmerle, called 911 to report the defendant was on her roof, looking in her bedroom window.She reported that Cornman “opened her bedroom window and began taking photos of her” and a man she was with, according to court documents.The suspect, Demmerle said, told them he was there to “gather up his belongings” and warned them “that if they did not let him in he would come in.”Cornman partially entered the room through the window, police said. Demmerle said when they told the defendant to leave, he threatened the other man. He eventually fled when the woman advised him that she was calling police.She also told officers of several previous incidents in which the defendant had showed up uninvited at her home. She noted that she and Cornman had not been a couple for “a significant period of time.”Cornman is charged with burglary and trespass, both felonies, and stalking and harassment, both misdemeanors.6:29 p.m. Wednesday — Jonathan J. Stark, 26, of Pittsburgh was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband during a traffic stop in the 500 block of North Main Street.Police said they pulled over Stark’s vehicle for having an expired inspection. When the officer got to the car he smelled a “strong odor” of marijuana coming from it.The suspect admitted he had marijuana in the vehicle, court documents said, and he turned over a tin that contained two baggies of the drug, a marijuana grinder and pipe, and rolling papers.Stark is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

Butler Twp PoliceMonday — Police reported they cited five students — all girls, ages 13 to 16 — for a fight Jan. 25 at the McQuistion Elementary School parking lot. All the teenagers are charged with disorderly conduct.

Grove City Police12:27 a.m. Saturday — Joseph J. Mathieson Sr., 40, of Grove City was arrested for drunken driving on East Main Street near Liberty Street. In addition to driving under the influence, Mathieson is charged with disregarding traffic lane and driving a vehicle with an improper muffler.12:22 a.m. Saturday — Derrick R. Gregory, 20, of Clinton, Allegheny County, was arrested after police got a call for an intruder at a home in the 300 block of McConnell Street.Gregory was arraigned on a felony count of trespass and charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and disorderly conduct. He was placed in Mercer County Jail on $10,000 bail following arraignment.1:50 p.m. Friday — An unidentified vehicle struck the side mirror of a blue Ford truck that was parked in the 100 block of South Broad Street. The unknown driver did not stop.Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.

Penn Twp PoliceMarch 14 — Raymond A. Preston, 30, was charged with endangering his 3-week-old son and punching his girlfriend during a domestic dispute last month at the couple’s home in the Port-O-Call trailer park on Trinidad Street.Police said the alleged victim, Kyrsten McHenry, recounted that Preston had gotten angry Feb. 20 when she awakened him from sleep to nurse their baby, according to court documents.He is accused of grabbing her left breast and not letting go. He also allegedly punched her and kicked the cradle in which the baby was laying.Later, documents said, Preston got a knife and “started cutting himself and stabbed himself in the leg.” He also threatened to kill himself and McHenry’s father, police said.The woman told police that when she sat down on the couch while holding the baby, her boyfriend grabbed at the child and tried to take the little boy out of her arms.McHenry suffered minor injuries, including swelling to her right eye and left hand. The baby apparently was not hurt.Preston is charged with child endangerment, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and two counts of harassment.

State Police, Butler2:50 a.m. Saturday — Dakota M. Taylor, 24, of Summit Township was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Krysten D. Hemphill, while they were riding in a vehicle on Henricks Road near Glenwood Way in Center Township.Hemphill told police that Taylor grabbed her by the neck. The alleged victim had minor injuries to the neck.Taylor was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and was released on his own recognizance.March 12 — Robert D. Dingel, 48, of Butler was charged with being nearly three times the legal limit for alcohol in connection with a traffic stop this month in Franklin Township.Police said they were initially called March 6 for a report of an erratic driver on Unionville Road near Route 422. A short time later, police stopped Dingel’s pickup truck on Route 422 after they watched it swerve over the center line and then back across the fog line.The suspect reeked of alcohol and he later failed field sobriety tests. A breath test subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.230 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Dingel is charged with driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.March 12 — Richard L. Godot, 57, of Franklin Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month that ended at his home.Police said they activated their emergency lights and siren about 9:20 p.m. Feb. 17 at Route 422 and North Road after they spotted Godot’s pickup truck speeding and traveling across the center line and off the road.The arresting trooper noted a “strong odor” of alcohol on the suspect’s breath. He participated in one field sobriety test but refused to continue with any more, saying: “What’s the point? I know I’m going to fail,” according to court documents.Godot also admitted, “I had too much” to drink at a local bar. He guessed that he had been drinking for two hours. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.209 percent.In addition to DUI, he is charged with speeding, driving too fast for conditions, failing to obey traffic control devices, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
