World renowned speaker to discuss Advent at free event

Workers replace the roof at St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township on Monday. St. Ferdinand, St. Gregory in Zelienople and Holy Redeemer in Ellwood Citywill be grouped together to form a new parish by 2023.

Divine Grace Parish has announced that Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, a Catholic speaker and evangelist, radio host and best-selling author, will visit St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township to speak on preparing the heart and spirit for advent.

Burke-Sivers will give his dynamic presentations from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2; Tuesday, Dec. 3; and Wednesday, Dec. 4, at St. Ferdinand’s, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

Monday’s topic will be “Why Be Catholic?” Tuesday’s will be “Healing in God’s Mercy,” and Wednesday’s is “Go and Make Disciples.”

All three sessions are meant to allow those in attendance to deepen their faith and relationship with Jesus. They are free and open to the public.

Burke-Sivers, known internationally as the Dynamic Deacon, is among the Catholic Church’s most sought-after speakers, according to a parish news release.

The Advent mission is a way for individuals, families and friends to prepare spiritually for Christmas, whether the faithful are seeking a closer connection to Jesus or looking to learn more about the Catholic Church.

The event promises to be a transformative experience, the release said.

No registration is required to attend.
