A portion of the Butler-Freeport Community Trail, from the North Monroe Road trailhead and the South Bear Creek trailhead, is closed for construction.

In a message to members of the Butler Freeport Trail Google group, Chris Ziegler did not give a definitive date for when the section of the trail would reopen, other than “soon,” but she estimated that the closure could last for “... a week or two.”

“Weather will play more of a factor than the actual work,” Ziegler wrote.

Ziegler advised visitors not to enter the closed section of trail, as there is not enough room for both trail users and equipment.
