Sharon Kiefer-West
Sharon J. Kiefer-West, 67, of East Slippery Rock Road, Chicora, Donegal Township, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 4, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Sharon was born in Morristown, Tenn., on July 12, 1956. She was the daughter of Dolores Quenton West of Morristown, Tenn. and the late John West.
She was a graduate of East High School in Morristown and earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn. Sharon retired following 40 years of distinguished service at the IRS in Austin, Texas. She was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran.
Sharon was an avid reader, she enjoyed the company of family and friends, and her love of Legos was legendary.
She is survived by her wife, Leanora A. Kiefer-West. The couple had been together for more than 42 years. Also surviving are two sisters, Diane Mason and her husband, Jeff, of Dandridge, Tenn. and Cynthia Fanney of Morristown, Tenn.; her brother in-law, Leo Kiefer of Chicora; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Anna Marie Kiefer; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Keifer.
KIEFER-WEST — Friends of Sharon J. Kiefer-West, who died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora. Military honors will be accorded by the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion posts at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
