Wreaths Across America Thank you
I want to take this time to thank everyone who donated wreaths or came out to help place the wreaths at the Saxonburg Cemetery in Saxonburg on Dec. 16. It was such an honor to plan and work with the community to take time to get the wreaths and place them on each of the military graves.
This was the third year for Saxonburg, and the community really stepped up in helping make it a success. From the local American Legion Honor Guard, local ministers, Skylar Burkett, who sang the national anthem, Henry Hoffman and Michael Stull who played taps, to William Thiele who took time to fly his drone over the event, and to the ex-military servicemen who placed the Honorary Wreaths, this event could not have happened. We even had the 2023-2024 National Little Miss Military Star, Nyomin Dimit, come honor these men and women who gave their service to the United States.
I also want to give a huge thank you to Brad Pflugh of Knoch School District for helping me these last three years in planning and recruiting his history club and other Knoch teachers in helping with unloading, placement of the wreaths and the clean up. Without his support, I'm sure this event would never have taken off. I am sure that this event will proceed in the coming years to Remember-Honor-Teach.
