Margaret Rice
Margaret Martha Rice, 97, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, while under the care of Northview Estates in Ellwood City.
Born on May 16, 1926, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Sovegyarto) Demeretz.
Margaret was a proud member of Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies. She was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan. She remained active by bowling and golfing. She enjoyed being outside gardening and she also loved bird watching. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos, bingo and crocheting. She was very involved in her family. She made all her children and grandchildren afghans.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Cynthia (Bill) Moncrief of Fombell, Margaret “Peggy” (Walter) Panko of Camp Hill, Colleen (Fred) Bermudez of New Castle and H. Brian (Ann) Rice of Cranberry Township; her sons-in-law, David Dindinger and Tim Milligan; her 15 grandchildren; and her 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden E. Rice; her daughters, Paula Dindinger and Mary Milligan; her five sisters; and her three brothers.

RICE — Friends and family of Margaret Martha Rice, who died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, will be received from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Following visitation, a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Roman Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople. Margaret will be laid to rest privately at Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Blind Association of Butler County, 322 N. Cedar St., Butler, PA 16001 or at theblindassociation.org.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
