Rowan Elementary School welcomed a new principal this week.

Tina Wentz was appointed to her role Tuesday morning, replacing Nannette Farmar, who retired earlier this month. Wentz has served as acting principal at Rowan Elementary since August.

Wentz has worked in the Seneca Valley School District for nearly nine years, serving as assistant principal of Connoquenessing Valley Elementary for seven years and one year as acting principal.

Wentz holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Masters of Education in Administration from California University of Pennsylvania. She earned her doctorate in Leadership and Administration from Point Park University.

“It is an honor to be selected as principal of Rowan Elementary School and to be entrusted to lead a school with such a strong commitment to academic achievement and holistic student development,” Wentz said. “I am excited to continue working with the dedicated staff, outstanding students and supportive families that make up the Rowan community. Together, I am confident that we will continue to build on previous successes and explore new opportunities for growth and innovation.”
