Wind advisory in place through Saturday night
A wind advisory is in place for Butler County through 1 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected to last from Friday evening through Saturday night, said Matt Brudy, meterologist with National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
Brudy said residents could expect some snow and sleet on Friday evening, with rain continuing through the night.
Saturday morning will see about an inch of snow, with snow showers keeping up in the afternoon and evening, he said.
Brudy said to expect area creeks to rise during this time, but no flooding is expected.
