Police: 71-year-old man dies Friday in Slippery Rock Township crash

A 71-year-old man died after suffering fatal injuries in a crash Friday evening, Jan. 12, on Harmony Road in Slippery Rock Township, according to state police.

Charles S. Raisor, of Slippery Rock Township, was the passenger of a Hyundai Tuscon involved in a front-end collision with another vehicle around 5:13 p.m. Friday, documents showed.

Police said others involved in the collision suffered injuries, including the driver of the Hyundai, Bette M. Zimmers, 38, of Slippery Rock.

According to the state police crash report, Zimmers was driving “too fast for conditions” when traveling north on Harmony Road, about 1 mile from Franklin Road.

Police said the Hyundai drifted into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck the front end of a Toyota Tundra driven by Ryan Glasgow, 41, of Harrisville. A 7-year-old boy was a passenger in Glasgow’s vehicle, according to documents.

Raisor suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash, police said, while Zimmers suffered serious injuries and was taken to AHN Grove City Hospital by Superior Ambulance Service of Grove City.

Glasgow and his passenger suffered suspected minor injuries and were also taken to the Mercer County hospital from the scene by Superior Ambulance Service.

According to reports from the Butler County 911 center, crews were on scene for about two hours.

Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team and its ambulance and Prospect/Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
