Police: Slippery Rock man stabbed in the neck at party early Monday
A man was stabbed in the neck during a party at Grove Apartments in Slippery Rock Township early Monday, according to state police.
Brennan Steeley, 23, of Greensburg, will face charges for allegedly using a fixed-blade knife to stab Oliver Valera, 22, of Slippery Rock, in the neck, police said in a Monday news release.
Police did not report the extent of Valera’s injuries, but said he was taken to a hospital from the scene.
Around 4:19 a.m. Monday, troopers responded to Steeley’s apartment in the complex on Harmony Road.
According to the news release, Steeley told police he was hosting the party and guests were using marijuana and drinking alcohol. Police said Valera showed up after the party began.
A few hours later, police said Steeley believed Valera had drugged him and other guests.
Steeley confronted Valera and accused him of trying to “kill everyone at the party,” according to documents. Steeley then stabbed Valera in the neck with a fixed-blade knife, police said.
