Butler woman accused of selling Adderall, cocaine, fentanyl

A Butler woman is accused of drug sales after city police found text messages referring to the creation of crack cocaine and several other substances.

Brittany L. Irvin, 32, was charged with two counts of felony drug sales, felony criminal use of a communication facility and three misdemeanor counts of use and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to documents filed Wednesday.

A search was conducted of Irvin’s residence June 28 by the U.S. Marshals Service with assistance from city police and state troopers. Documents showed the Marshals were searching for Terrance Clowney, 37.

Clowney and Irvin were apprehended at the home, police said.

Documents show Clowney was a fugitive from justice and the Marshals had a warrant for his arrest.

During a sweep of Irvin’s home, a digital scale with white residue and a container of plastic baggies were sitting in plain view on a mantel, police said.

This led police to obtain another search warrant for Irvin’s residence, documents showed. During the search, police said a chunky white substance was found in the kitchen. Tests determined the substance was cocaine, documents showed.

A search of the master bedroom yielded five ecstasy tablets, two bricks of suspected heroin/fentanyl and $767 in cash, police said. A “brick” is 50 stamp bags.

In the stack of cash was $100 from a controlled investigative purchase of crack cocaine by state police, documents showed.

Police also discovered three cellphones, one of which was Irvin’s. Her phone was searched after a proper warrant was obtained, police said.

Firearms also were found in the search.

Documents showed various text messages on Irvin’s phone were consistent with the trafficking of Adderall, crack cocaine and heroin/fentanyl.

One group of messages between Irvin and her mother showed plans to sell prescriptions, or “scripts,” police said. Another text discussion regarded how to avoid being pulled over by police on certain roads.

Police claim other conversations pertained to how to handle certain narcotics by wearing multiple masks, and how to use a microwave and Pyrex containers to cook crack cocaine.

Police said other messages alleged Irvin arranged drug sales in locations hours away as well as within Butler city limits. Some messages referenced slang terms known for crack cocaine, heroin/fentanyl and crystal meth.

Irvin was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 on Thursday. Her preliminary hearing before District Judge William Fullerton is scheduled Jan. 22.

Irvin previously has been charged with numerous thefts and child endangerment, according to court documents.

Clowney was charged in 2006 with attempted criminal homicide in Butler County after police said he attacked his foster mother with a steak knife. He was sentenced to incarceration in a state prison for 10 to 20 years in 2007.
