New Castle art center seeking entries for competition
Arts & Education at the Hoyt, in New Castle, is inviting both emerging and established artists to enter their works in the 51st annual Hoyt Regional Juried Art Competition.
The competition is open to artists within a 250-mile radius of the Hoyt Center.
All media except video and installation will be considered. Artists must be age 18 or older to enter, and all entries must have been completed within the last three years.
The deadline to enter is March 1. At least $1,200 in cash prizes will be awarded.
The juror will be Juana Williams, associate curator of African American Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
An artist prep workshop, which will teach prospective entrants the correct way to submit their art for the competition, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13.
Applications to enter art into the competition, as well as information on and registration for the prep workshop, are available at hoytartcenter.org.
